The Broadstone Royal British Legion (RBL) Club is a small business operating as as an independent limited company but affiliated to the Royal British Legion, the charity founded in 1921 to care for those who had suffered as a result of service in the Armed Forces during the war. Clubphoto

The Broadstone Branch of the RBL charity was formed in 1946 and the Club was founded in 1947, celebrating its 70th year in September 2017. The Club and the Charity each own parts of the building in Broadstone with the Club paying a licence fee to the RBL as well as rent for use of the parts of the building they own.

The Club aims to provide a welcoming social environment for its members, their families and guests many of whom are current or ex-serving members of the armed forces but this is NOT a pre-requisite for joining; indeed probably the majority of our members have few if any military connections. The Club has 1000+ members, and is proud to have been declared runner up for the Ian Hamilton Cup for best managed RBL Club in the country in 2017.

rbllogo The Club's affiliation to the RBL means that we strongly support the charity and a number of our members are active in fundraising and other charity activities such as the annual Poppy Appeal. The Club also aims to benefit the local community generally by organising and/or hosting events, for example the Stroke Club and Eat and Meet.

The charity has of course moved on to become the major UK charity providing lifelong support for the Royal Navy, British Army, Royal Air Force, Reservists, veterans, and their families.
